What is the main difference between Eco-Drive and traditional quartz watches?

How often does the Citizen EW1676-52D need servicing?
As a solar-powered watch, the Citizen EW1676-52D requires minimal maintenance. While it doesn't need battery changes, a general service every 5-7 years is recommended to ensure the movement remains lubricated and seals are intact for water resistance.
Is the mineral crystal on this watch durable for daily wear?
The mineral crystal on the Citizen EW1676-52D is designed to be durable for daily wear, offering good shatter resistance. While it's more prone to scratches than sapphire, it provides reliable protection for typical everyday activities.

Editor's take
The Citizen EW1676-52D is a quintessential women's dress watch, embodying the brand's commitment to accessible, sustainable luxury. Designed for everyday elegance, this timepiece seamlessly transitions from office wear to evening events, making it a versatile choice for the modern woman. Its classic aesthetic, combined with practical features, positions it as a reliable companion for various occasions.
Central to its appeal is Citizen's proprietary Eco-Drive solar movement, a technological marvel that harnesses light from any source to power the watch, eliminating the need for battery replacements. This 26mm stainless steel case, protected by a durable mineral crystal, houses a clean white dial with a date complication. The 100-meter water resistance further enhances its daily wearability, offering peace of mind against splashes and brief immersion.
While the mineral crystal offers good shatter resistance, it is more prone to scratches compared to sapphire, which might be a consideration for those seeking ultimate scratch protection. Additionally, its smaller 26mm case size, while elegant, might feel too diminutive for individuals who prefer a more substantial wrist presence. This is a design choice that caters specifically to a classic, understated aesthetic.
For women seeking a dependable, low-maintenance, and stylish timepiece, the Citizen EW1676-52D is an excellent option. Its Eco-Drive technology and timeless design make it a smart investment. Those desiring a larger case or a more robust scratch-resistant crystal might explore other Citizen collections or consider models with sapphire glass in a slightly higher price bracket.
