Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta 0931 Subaqua suitable for daily swimming or showering?
The Invicta 0931 Subaqua offers 200 metres of water resistance, making it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports. While it can handle swimming, it's generally advised to avoid showering with any watch due to temperature changes and soap, which can compromise seals over time. It is not recommended for scuba diving.
What makes the Invicta 0931 different from other sport watches in its price range?
The Invicta 0931 stands out with its bold 50mm plastic case and distinctive 18k rose gold ion-plated unidirectional bezel, offering a unique aesthetic. Its Swiss quartz movement ensures reliable chronograph functionality, while the flame-fusion crystal provides enhanced durability. Many watches in this price range might not offer this combination of size, design, and specific crystal type.
What type of movement powers the Invicta 0931 Subaqua and how accurate is it?
The Invicta 0931 Subaqua is powered by a precise Swiss quartz movement. Quartz movements are known for their excellent accuracy, typically varying by only a few seconds per month. This ensures reliable and consistent timekeeping for your daily activities.
Is the 50mm case size of the Invicta 0931 suitable for all wrist sizes?
The 50mm case of the Invicta 0931 is quite large and designed to make a statement. It is generally best suited for men with medium to larger wrist sizes, typically 7 inches (18 cm) and above, to ensure a comfortable fit and proportional look. For smaller wrists, it might feel oversized.
How durable is the flame-fusion crystal on the Invicta 0931?
The flame-fusion crystal on the Invicta 0931 is a proprietary blend of mineral and sapphire crystals, designed to offer superior scratch resistance compared to standard mineral glass, while maintaining good shatter resistance. This makes it a durable choice for a sport watch intended for active use.
What kind of maintenance does the Invicta 0931 Subaqua require?
As a quartz watch, the Invicta 0931 Subaqua requires minimal maintenance. The primary service will be a battery replacement, typically every 2-3 years, depending on usage. It's also advisable to have the water resistance seals checked periodically, especially if frequently exposed to water, to ensure its 200m water resistance remains intact.
Editor's take
The Invicta 0931 Subaqua is a timepiece that unapologetically embraces a bold and oversized aesthetic, catering to individuals who prefer their wristwear to make a significant statement. Part of the distinctive Subaqua collection, this model combines a robust build with practical features, positioning itself as a versatile companion for various active pursuits. Its design language clearly speaks to those with a penchant for eye-catching, performance-oriented accessories.
Central to its functionality is a reliable Swiss quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping and the accurate operation of its chronograph functions. The watch features a substantial 50mm plastic case with a stainless steel back, topped by a resilient flame-fusion crystal for enhanced durability. Furthermore, its unidirectional bezel and impressive 200-meter water resistance make it suitable for serious surface water sports and marine activities, offering peace of mind during aquatic adventures.
One potential consideration for some users might be the sheer size of the 0931. While its 50mm diameter contributes to its commanding presence, it may feel overly large or cumbersome on smaller wrists. Additionally, despite its high water resistance, the manufacturer explicitly states it is not suitable for scuba diving, which might be a limitation for dedicated underwater explorers seeking an ISO-certified diver.
Ultimately, the Invicta 0931 Subaqua is best suited for men who desire a large, visually striking, and highly functional sport chronograph for daily wear and surface water activities. Those seeking a more understated design or a watch specifically for professional scuba diving might explore alternatives within Invicta's Pro Diver series or other brands offering dedicated dive watches.
