Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta Angel 35589 suitable for daily swimming or showering?
The Invicta Angel 35589 offers 100 metres of water resistance, making it suitable for recreational swimming, snorkelling, and water sports. However, it is not recommended for showering due to potential temperature changes and soap, nor for diving, as the push/pull crown may not withstand direct water pressure.
What type of movement powers this Invicta watch?
This Invicta Angel watch is powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, specifically the VD54 Caliber. Quartz movements are known for their accuracy and low maintenance, requiring only a battery replacement typically every few years.
How does the Flame Fusion crystal compare to sapphire?
The Flame Fusion crystal on the Invicta Angel 35589 offers good scratch resistance, superior to standard mineral glass. While not as hard as sapphire crystal, it provides a durable and clear view of the black dial for daily wear, balancing cost and performance effectively.
Can I use the chronograph function for precise timing?
Yes, the Invicta Angel 35589 features a functional chronograph with three subdials for 60-minute, 60-second, and 24-hour measurements. This allows for accurate timing of various events, making it a practical tool for sports or everyday tasks.
Is the Invicta Angel 35589 suitable for all wrist sizes?
With a 40mm case diameter, the Invicta Angel 35589 offers a noticeable presence on the wrist, which is a popular size for women's sport watches. The black silicone and gold-tone stainless steel band is adjustable with a buckle clasp, generally fitting wrist sizes from approximately 6.5 to 8 inches comfortably.
What makes the Invicta Angel 35589 a good alternative to other women's sport watches?
The Invicta Angel 35589 stands out with its distinctive gold-tone stainless steel case and black dial, offering a blend of sporty functionality and fashion-forward design. Its reliable quartz movement and 100m water resistance provide excellent value compared to many alternatives in its price range, especially for those seeking a bold aesthetic.
Editor's take
The Invicta Angel 35589 positions itself as an accessible yet visually striking women's chronograph, blending a sporty aesthetic with a touch of glamour. Designed for the active woman who appreciates a bold statement piece, this watch from the Angel collection offers a robust build and practical features for everyday adventures. Its gold-tone finish ensures it stands out, making it suitable for various casual and semi-formal settings.
Powering this timepiece is a reliable Japanese quartz movement, the VD54 Caliber, known for its precision and low maintenance. The 40mm stainless steel case provides a substantial wrist presence, while the Flame Fusion crystal offers enhanced scratch resistance compared to standard mineral glass. With 100 metres of water resistance, the Angel 35589 is capable of handling splashes, swimming, and even recreational surfing, making it a versatile companion for water-based activities.
One aspect to consider is the push/pull crown, which, while common in many 100m water-resistant watches, requires careful attention to ensure it's fully closed before water exposure. While the silicone and stainless steel band offers comfort and durability, those seeking a purely elegant dress watch might find its sporty aesthetic less suitable for very formal occasions. The chronograph functionality, with its three subdials, adds a layer of utility for timing various events throughout the day.
Ultimately, the Invicta Angel 35589 is an excellent choice for women seeking a fashion-forward yet functional watch that can keep up with an active lifestyle. Its blend of gold-tone aesthetics, quartz precision, and water resistance makes it a strong contender in its price segment. For those prioritising a more traditional, understated look or requiring ISO-certified dive capabilities, alternatives in dedicated dress or dive watch categories might be more appropriate.
