The Invicta Angel 18796 has a water resistance of 30 metres, which means it can withstand splashes from hand washing or light rain. However, it is not designed for prolonged water immersion like swimming, showering, or diving, as this could compromise its internal components.
What type of movement powers the Invicta Angel 18796 watch?

How does the Flame Fusion crystal on this Invicta Angel model compare to other watch crystals?
The Flame Fusion crystal on the Invicta Angel 18796 is Invicta's proprietary blend, offering enhanced scratch resistance compared to standard mineral crystals. While not as hard as pure sapphire, it provides a good balance of durability and clarity, protecting the white dial effectively during daily use.
Is the Invicta Angel 18796 a good alternative for someone looking for a versatile sport watch?
Yes, the Invicta Angel 18796 is a strong alternative for those seeking a versatile sport watch. It balances style with practical features.

Editor's take
The Invicta Angel 18796 positions itself as an accessible and stylish women's sport watch, blending a fashionable aesthetic with practical features for daily wear. Part of the popular Angel collection, this model caters to individuals seeking a versatile timepiece that transitions seamlessly from casual outings to light active pursuits, all while maintaining a distinctive visual appeal.
At its core, the Angel 18796 relies on a robust Japanese quartz movement, specifically the VD76 Calibre, known for its reliability and precision. The watch features a 38mm gold-tone stainless steel case paired with a comfortable white silicone strap, offering a contemporary look. Protecting the white dial is Invicta's proprietary Flame Fusion crystal, which provides enhanced scratch resistance compared to standard mineral glass, ensuring clarity for the day and date subdials.
While the 30-metre water resistance is adequate for daily splashes and hand washing, it's crucial to note that this watch is not designed for swimming or diving. Its uni-directional bezel, often associated with dive watches, serves more as a stylistic element or a simple timer for short durations rather than a professional diving instrument. Those requiring higher water resistance for aquatic activities should consider dedicated dive watches.
Ultimately, the Invicta Angel 18796 is an excellent choice for women who prioritise style and everyday functionality in a watch. It offers a reliable quartz engine and a fashionable design at an attractive price point. For those seeking a more robust tool watch or a timepiece for serious water sports, exploring other collections with higher water resistance ratings would be advisable.
