Editor's take
The Invicta Racing 69701 positions itself as an accessible and robust digital timepiece for the modern man. With its distinctive square acrylic case measuring 43.2mm, it offers a bold wrist presence that aligns well with casual and sporty attire. This model from the Racing collection emphasises a straightforward, functional approach to timekeeping.
At its core, the watch is powered by a reliable quartz movement, ensuring precise digital time display without the need for winding. The choice of an acrylic crystal for the dial provides good shatter resistance, making it suitable for daily activities where minor impacts might occur. The comfortable silicone strap, secured by a buckle, further enhances its wearability for active users.
One consideration for potential buyers is the use of acrylic for both the case and crystal. While durable against shattering, acrylic is more prone to scratching than sapphire or mineral glass, which might require more careful handling or occasional polishing to maintain its appearance. Additionally, the water resistance is not specified, suggesting it's best suited for splash protection rather than swimming.
Ultimately, the Invicta Racing 69701 is a solid choice for individuals seeking a visually striking, easy-to-read digital watch for casual and active use. Its blend of a bold design, quartz accuracy, and comfortable wear makes it a practical option for those who prioritise style and functionality over high-end materials or extensive water capabilities.
