Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Invicta Speedway 46846 suitable for daily wear and light water exposure?
Yes, the Invicta Speedway 46846 is well-suited for daily wear. With its 30 metres water resistance, it can handle splashes, rain, and brief immersion, making it practical for everyday activities. However, it is not recommended for swimming or showering.
What type of movement powers the Invicta Speedway 46846 and how accurate is it?
The Invicta Speedway 46846 is powered by a reliable quartz movement. Quartz watches are known for their exceptional accuracy and require minimal maintenance, typically only needing a battery replacement every few years. This ensures consistent and precise timekeeping.
How does the Flame Fusion crystal on this Invicta Speedway compare to sapphire?
The Flame Fusion crystal on the Invicta Speedway 46846 offers good scratch resistance and durability for its price point. While it is more resilient than standard mineral glass, it generally does not match the superior scratch resistance of sapphire crystal found in some higher-end watches.
What kind of wrist size is suitable for the 42mm Invicta Speedway 46846?
The 42mm stainless steel case of the Invicta Speedway 46846 is a versatile size that fits a wide range of wrist sizes, typically from 6.5 to 8 inches (16.5 to 20 cm) comfortably. Its design ensures a balanced presence without being overly bulky on most men's wrists.
What are the main differences between the Invicta Speedway 46846 and other sport watches in its price range?
The Invicta Speedway 46846 stands out with its distinctive gold dial and two-tone stainless steel band, offering a unique aesthetic compared to many sport watches. Its reliable quartz movement and Flame Fusion crystal provide a good balance of accuracy and durability, making it a strong contender for those prioritising style and everyday functionality.
Editor's take
The Invicta Speedway 46846 positions itself as an accessible and visually striking timepiece for men who appreciate a blend of sporty aesthetics and reliable functionality. Part of the popular Speedway collection, this watch is designed for everyday wear, offering a robust build and a distinctive gold-toned dial that catches the eye.
At its core, the Speedway 46846 is powered by a dependable quartz movement, ensuring precise timekeeping without the need for manual winding. Its 42mm stainless steel case is protected by a durable Flame Fusion crystal, a proprietary blend offering enhanced scratch resistance. With 30 metres of water resistance, it is suitable for daily activities like hand washing or light rain, though not for swimming.
One potential consideration for enthusiasts is the relatively modest 30-metre water resistance, which limits its use to surface activities rather than serious aquatic adventures. While the Flame Fusion crystal offers good protection, it may not match the extreme scratch resistance of sapphire found in higher-end models. However, for its price point, it delivers solid performance.
This Invicta Speedway model is an excellent choice for individuals seeking a stylish, low-maintenance watch for daily wear that stands out. It caters well to those who value a bold design and quartz accuracy over advanced mechanical features or deep-sea diving capabilities. For those needing greater water resistance, exploring dedicated dive watches would be a suitable alternative.
