Description
The Easy Reader collection has long been defined by its straightforward approach to time telling. This particular model, with its modest 31mm case diameter, offers a comfortable and proportional fit for smaller wrists. Its design prioritises instant legibility above all else, making it an exceptionally practical daily companion.
A polished gold-tone finish on the brass case provides a warm, classic appearance. This is complemented by a clean white dial featuring a full set of bold Arabic numerals, ensuring the time can be read with just a glance. For low-light situations, the signature Indiglo backlight illuminates the entire dial surface with a soft blue-green glow.
Inside, a dependable quartz movement powers the watch, delivering consistent accuracy without the need for daily winding. The watch is fitted with a matching gold-tone stainless steel expansion band that is both comfortable and easy to wear. A durable mineral crystal protects the dial from the minor impacts of everyday use.
Frequently Asked Questions

What type of movement powers this Timex Easy Reader watch?
The Timex Easy Reader TW2R58900 is powered by a reliable quartz movement. This ensures accurate timekeeping and requires minimal maintenance, making it a practical choice for daily wear.
Who is this 31mm Timex Easy Reader watch most suitable for?
This watch is designed for women seeking a classic, easy-to-read timepiece for daily use. Its 31mm case size and expansion band make it comfortable for various wrist sizes, ideal for those who value legibility and simplicity.
How does the Indiglo feature work on this watch?
The Indiglo light-up dial on the Timex Easy Reader TW2R58900 illuminates the entire watch face with a soft, blue-green glow. This feature is activated by pressing the crown, providing excellent visibility in low-light conditions.
What are the main advantages of the expansion band compared to a traditional clasp?
The stainless steel expansion band on this Timex Easy Reader offers convenience and a secure fit without the need for a buckle. It stretches to easily slide over the wrist, making it simple to put on and take off for daily activities.

Editor's take
The Timex Easy Reader TW2R58900 is for the user who values function over mechanical complexity. Its appeal is simplicity, driven by a reliable quartz movement that makes it a set-and-forget accessory. The compact 31mm case is well-suited for slender wrists or those preferring an understated, vintage scale.
The watch's greatest strength is its namesake legibility. The contrast between the black numerals and white dial is effective, enhanced by the practical Indiglo night-light. The dial is protected by a flat Mineral Crystal, which offers decent scratch resistance for its category, though it is not as hard as sapphire.
Buyers should note the material choices. The case is a gold-tone plated Brass, not solid steel, so deep scratches could expose the base metal over time. The 30-metre water resistance rating is sufficient for splashes and rain but the watch should not be submerged for swimming or showering.
For someone seeking an affordable and supremely readable watch, this Easy Reader is a strong choice. The gold-tone Stainless Steel expansion bracelet offers a specific comfort and convenience for daily wear. It accomplishes its mission of telling time clearly without any unnecessary complication.
