How Much More Do Orient Watches Cost in Europe? Barely More Than the VAT

About a quarter more in the UK and a fifth more in Germany, and almost all of that is VAT. Across 70 Orient models listed on all three Amazon stores, the median model costs 25% more in the UK and 20% more in Germany than in the US at the ECB rate of October 21, 2026. With the 20% UK VAT and the 19% German VAT taken out, the gap is 4% and 1%.
Key takeaways
- On the median model, Amazon UK is 25% and Amazon Germany 20% above Amazon US (VAT included, US prices before sales tax); without VAT the gap is 4% and 1%.
- The Bambino, Mako and Kamasu sit within three points of each other: 24%, 27% and 25% above the US price in the UK, 18%, 20% and 20% in Germany.
- Amazon US was the cheapest of the three for 63 of the 70 models and Amazon Germany for the other 7; Germany was cheaper than the UK for 57.
What we compared
We track watch prices on Amazon in the US, the UK and Germany. For this piece we took every Orient in our catalog that is listed on all three stores and had a price from the past seven days on each of them: 70 models. UK and German prices were converted to US dollars at the European Central Bank reference rate of October 21, 2026 (1 euro = 1.1234 dollars, 1 pound = 1.3402 dollars), the latest rate published when we pulled the prices on October 22.
UK and German prices include VAT, US prices do not include sales tax. So we show two comparisons: the price you see, and the price with 20% (UK) and 19% (Germany) VAT taken out.
The median Orient
| UK vs US | Germany vs US | |
|---|---|---|
| Price you see | +25% | +20% |
| Without VAT | +4% | +1% |
The US was the cheapest of the three for 63 of the 70 models and Germany for the other 7. The UK was never the cheapest, and Germany came out below the UK for 57 models. On the median model the UK price is a slightly smaller number than the US price, about 7% lower in pounds than in dollars, while the German price is about 7% higher in euros.
Most of the gap is VAT
Without VAT, 48 of the 70 models are within 10% of their US price in the UK and 42 in Germany. Germany is then below the US price for 28 models and the UK for 14, and Germany becomes the cheapest of the three for 27 models, the UK for 3.
Earlier comparisons with the same method, on October 19 and 20, left the median Casio 12% above the US price in the UK and 21% in Germany without VAT, and the median Timex 11% in both countries.
By US price
| US price | Models | UK vs US | Germany vs US |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under $200 | 5 | +40% | +37% |
| $200 to $250 | 18 | +28% | +21% |
| $250 to $300 | 31 | +25% | +17% |
| $300 and over | 16 | +23% | +20% |
Of the 70 Orients we track, 49 cost $200 to $300 in the US. The five models under $200 show a bigger gap, still 17% (UK) and 15% (Germany) above the US price without VAT, but five models are too few to call it a pattern. From $200 up, the gap without VAT stays between −2% and +7%.
Every line
| Line | Models | UK vs US | Germany vs US |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bambino | 25 | +24% | +18% |
| Mako | 13 | +27% | +20% |
| Kamasu | 9 | +25% | +20% |
| Stretto | 6 | +24% | +10% |
| Other models | 17 | +26% | +21% |
The three biggest lines are within three points of each other in both countries, so with Orient the line you buy changes the gap very little. The Stretto's German figure is lower, but it rests on six models. The other 17 models are three Sun and Moon, two Contemporary, one Symphony and one Orient Star, plus ten models from smaller lines or without a line in their name.
Where Europe is cheaper
Seven of the 70 models cost less on Amazon Germany than on Amazon US even with VAT, and two of them also cost less on Amazon UK: the Sun and Moon RA-AK0803Y, 23% cheaper in the UK and 25% cheaper in Germany, and the Mako GMT RA-BC0005L, 14% cheaper in both. The other five are cheaper only in Germany: the Bambino RA-AC0M01S and the Contemporary RA-BA0002E by 8%, the Bambino Classic RA-AC0032V by 5%, and the Sun and Moon RA-AK0801S and the Contemporary Stretto RA-AK0314E by less than 1%.
The biggest gaps
Nine models cost at least 50% more on Amazon UK than on Amazon US, and eight on Amazon Germany. The largest German gaps are on two older Bambino references, AC00008W (+98%) and AC00005W (+95%), and on two Kamasu listings, RA-AA0001B and RA-AA0004E (+93% each). None of the 70 costs twice the US price in either country.

Limits of this data
These are Amazon listing prices, some from third-party sellers, and Amazon changes them often, so single models can move a lot from day to day. Our catalog covers the Orient models we have added, not every Orient. Models that were out of stock in one of the three countries, or had no price from the past seven days, are not included. Sales tax in the US depends on the state and is not included. Lines are taken from the product names, so a model whose name does not mention its line is counted under other models.
