Description
The Amazfit Active 2 is a round smartwatch for people who want workout tracking and everyday notifications in one device. It pairs a stainless steel case with a bright 1.32-inch AMOLED display and a black silicone strap with a buckle closure.
On the technical side, the watch uses the BioTracker sensor for heart rate and sleep data, and five satellite positioning systems for GPS. Water resistance is rated at 50m, and a barometer is included. Sport profiles cover basketball, cycling, diving, hiking and swimming.
Battery life reaches up to 10 days with typical use, so nightly charging is not needed. The watch offers over 160 sports modes, free downloadable maps with turn directions, and speech-to-text replies to Android messages through Zepp Flow. It works with iOS and Android through the Zepp app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I swim with the Amazfit Active 2 in a pool?
Yes for pool swimming, since the Amazfit Active 2 is rated to 50m and lists swimming among its sport types. It also handles showers and rain without trouble. Dives are a different matter, so avoid deep or high-pressure water activities and rinse the silicone strap after chlorine or salt water.
How long does the battery last between charges?
With typical use the Active 2 lasts up to 10 days, so you charge it far less than most smartwatches. Heavy GPS tracking, constant notifications and the always-on screen shorten that, so expect fewer days if you train outdoors daily.
Does it work with an iPhone, or only Android?
It works with both through the free Zepp app, which holds your health and fitness data in one place. Speech-to-text replies to messages are described for Android, so iPhone users should expect notifications and tracking rather than the full reply feature set.
Is it good for daily sport like running and cycling?
It suits daily sport well, with over 160 sports modes and GPS using five satellite systems. Cycling, hiking and running are covered, and the barometer helps with altitude. Free downloadable maps with turn directions mean you can navigate without carrying a phone map.
How does it compare with a regular quartz sport watch?
A quartz sport watch wins on battery life and simplicity, while the Amazfit Active 2 adds GPS, heart rate and sleep tracking, maps and notifications. If you want training data, this is the better alternative. For pure timekeeping, a quartz watch is cheaper to run.
Will it fit a small wrist, and can I change the strap?
The lugs are 20 mm wide, so standard 20 mm straps should fit the Active 2 if you want a different look. The round stainless steel case is designed for everyday wear, but check the wrist size against the case in a store if your wrist is very slim.
Editor's take
Amazfit built the Active 2 for people who treat a watch as a training log first and a timepiece second. It is a round smartwatch with a stainless steel case and a black silicone strap, aimed at runners, cyclists and gym users who also want notifications on iOS or Android.
The most useful hardware here is the 1.32-inch AMOLED display and the BioTracker sensor. The screen stays readable in bright sunlight, which matters more outdoors than any spec-sheet resolution figure. Navigation relies on a five-system GPS with downloadable maps and turn-by-turn guidance, including ski resort maps, and there is a barometer on board.
The limit worth noting is the 50m water resistance rating. It covers pool swimming and showers comfortably, but the watch is listed with diving among its sport types, so anyone planning real dives should look at a dedicated dive computer instead. The buckle closure on the silicone strap is simple and secure, though it offers less micro-adjustment than a deployant.
This suits anyone who wants broad sport tracking and roughly 10 days of battery life without a premium price. If you want mechanical charm or a sapphire crystal look, a quartz or automatic dress watch makes more sense. For a stronger smartwatch alternative, the Garmin Forerunner range is the usual comparison.

From the manufacturer
Stainless Steel Case, 44mm
The Active 2 Smart uses a 44.0mm stainless steel case, a size that sits comfortably on most wrists without crowding the cuff. Steel resists scratches and daily knocks better than the polymer cases common in this category, and it keeps its finish with regular wear.
Black Finish, Quiet Presence
The A2437-S-Black reference pairs a dark case and strap in a restrained, single-tone scheme. It reads as a tool watch first, which suits office wear as easily as a training session, and it does not clash with most clothing.
Silicone Strap For Daily Wear
The silicone strap is soft, light, and unaffected by sweat or rinsing, which matters for a watch worn through workouts and long days. It is easy to wipe clean, and the standard fitting lets you swap in other straps if you want a different look.
Rated To 50 Meters
With 50m of water resistance, the Active 2 Smart handles rain, hand washing, showers, and pool swims without concern. This rating is suited to surface swimming, not high-pressure activity such as diving or water skiing, so keep that boundary in mind.
A Smartwatch Built For Routine
As a smart watch, it is made for the daily loop of notifications, activity tracking, and time checks at a glance. The steel case and silicone strap give it the physical durability to keep up with that constant use across many months.
Practical Size, Everyday Utility
At 44.0mm, the case gives the display enough area to stay legible while remaining manageable for daily wear. Combined with a steel build, a silicone strap, and 50m water resistance, the Active 2 Smart is a sensible choice for those who want a dependable wrist companion.
