Description
The Helio Strap arrived in 2025 with an unusual premise: take the sensor module out of the watch and put it in the band. There is no display on the unit, so it logs activity, sleep, and recovery data quietly and hands the reading over to a phone app.
The band is black nylon cut for a 22 mm lug width, which covers a large share of dive watches, field watches, and sport pieces. Nylon sits flat against the wrist, dries quickly, and avoids the weight of a metal bracelet. That makes it a sensible host for a sensor that is meant to be worn through the night.
Water resistance is listed at 50 meters of rated depth, which suits rain, handwashing, and a casual swim. It is not a figure to stretch toward serious diving or high-pressure water sports.
For someone who prefers a mechanical watch on the wrist but still wants health numbers, this is a practical middle path. The watch keeps its dial and the band does the data work underneath.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Amazfit Helio Strap have a screen?
No, it is a screenless tracker. Data is reviewed in the companion app on your phone. This suits people who want tracking without notifications or a display on the wrist.
Is it safe to swim or shower with it?
The tracker is rated to 50 meters of water resistance, which covers showers, pool swimming and shallow water activities. It is not intended for high-speed water sports or diving. Rinse it with fresh water after exposure to chlorine or salt water.
Which phones and apps does it work with?
It pairs with a smartphone through the companion app, which is available for both iOS and Android. Check the app store listing for the minimum operating system version. Data syncs over Bluetooth, so the phone needs to be nearby for updates.
What can it track?
It is designed to follow daily activity, workouts, heart rate and sleep using onboard sensors. The exact metrics and recovery insights shown depend on the app version. Without a screen, you see results only after syncing.
How comfortable is the black nylon strap for all-day wear?
Nylon is lightweight, breathable and dries quickly after sweat or water exposure. The strap is adjustable, so it fits a range of wrist sizes. Wash it periodically to prevent skin irritation from salt and sweat buildup.
How does it compare with a standard smartwatch?
It trades a display, notifications and on-wrist apps for a slim, distraction-free design. A screenless tracker is better suited to those who focus on health and activity data rather than phone alerts. If you want to see live stats during a workout, a smartwatch is the better choice.
Editor's take
Most people who ask about a screenless tracker already own a watch they like. The Helio Strap answers that with a black nylon band cut for 22 mm lugs, so the sensor module rides under a case you chose for its dial and movement, not for its notifications.
The build is simple by design. The nylon weave is light and breathes well, which matters for overnight sleep tracking, and it does not hold sweat the way leather does. With no display glass to specify, there is no sapphire or mineral question to weigh, and the module stays small and flat.
The real tradeoff sits in the 50 m water resistance rating. That is fine for showers, rain, and a swim in a pool, but it leaves little margin for diving or hard water sports, and it is lower than many dive watches you might fit it to. A wearer pairing it with a 200 meter diver should remember the band is the weaker link in that setup.
The listing carries the reference df75b366-d9ff-4bb9-882a-82f928c9b7c4 and a 2025 release year. It suits someone who wants recovery and activity data without giving up a mechanical watch, and who stays out of deep water.

Built For Daily Training
This Amazfit activity tracker is designed for people who log their movement every day, from morning runs to gym sessions. It records heart rate, steps and workout data in one place, so you can review your training without guesswork.
Nylon Strap For Long Wear
The nylon strap is light and breathable, which suits extended wear during workouts and through the night. It dries quickly after exercise and sits flat on the wrist, so the tracker stays secure without adding noticeable weight.
Rated To 50 Meters
Water resistance of 50 meters covers handwashing, rain and pool swimming. It is a rating meant for surface use rather than diving or high-speed water sports, so treat it as suitable for lap swimming and everyday exposure to water.
Tracking Beyond The Workout
An activity tracker earns its place by recording what happens between sessions as well. Daily steps, sleep and resting trends build a clear baseline, which makes it easier to judge how recovery and training load are actually changing over weeks.
A Practical Wrist Companion
Amazfit pairs a straightforward tracker with a strap and water rating chosen for regular use. It is a sensible choice for anyone who wants consistent fitness data on the wrist, without the upkeep or fragility of a more delicate watch.
